Event Remarks
(-23) ACCORDING TO THE PILOT IN COMMAND, HE WAS ON A VFR FLIGHT PLAN FROM SANFORD ME. TO ROCHESTER NH. WHILE ON FINAL APPROACH, THE LANDING GEAR FAILED TO EXTEND. THE PILOT DIVERTED TO WATERBURY OXFORD AIRPORT IN CT, WHERE HE LANDED GEAR UP. INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT THE LANDING GEAR ACTUATOR "NO BACK SPRING" HAD A BROKEN TAB WHICH CAUSED THE ACTUATOR TO MALFUNCTION. THIS MALFUNCTION CAUSED THE GEAR TO REMAIN IN THE UP POSITION.
